Our Purpose

November 7, 2022
Power to the People

This website was created to explore many environmental problems now affecting the inhabitants of planet earth, which includes humans and all life on earth. We seek to gather important statistics, opinions, and observations from all walks of life, and endeavor to objectively present the information to educate ourselves on what is true and false. We will also seek to strengthen the connection and communication between science and the public. Science too, can be correct or incorrect and often can seem like its own language. The public must understand science, and science must understand the public if we are all going to try to work together. Scientists need the help of the public to make important changes for our planet. They cannot do it by themselves. The power to save our environment rests with the public. The public can influence our leaders, representatives, lawmakers, and decision-makers to change our laws, policies, priorities, and procedures. If we all work together, perhaps we can endeavor to remove the fate of our environment from the hands of the politicians. There is no more time to waste.

As we go forward we plan to address many, if not all of the following topics: plastic pollution and plastic recycling; contaminated water and garbage in our waters and on beaches; overfishing and depleted fishing stocks; boat damage from anchors and propeller damage to reefs and seagrass; weather and climate; global warming; greenhouse gases; the ozone layer; climate change including floods, fires, droughts, stronger storms, and melting glaciers; sea level rise; flooding; endangerment and extinction of marine and land species; overpopulation; food shortages; poverty, hunger and starvation; fresh and potable water shortages; agriculture; aquaculture; new technology; green energy; deforestation; illegal dumping; protecting and revitalizing our shorelines; generational considerations and conflicts between the present and future; and politics, legislation and lobbying.

We also plan to incorporate photographs, video interviews, surveys, and brief presentations from different stakeholders in our environment. Most importantly, we would like to hear from you. We want your comments, opinions, and suggestions. We want your help and contribution on important and current environment related topics so we may all get it right.
